La force du nombre
(The Strength in Numbers)

Through this duo show, twin brothers Tchinan and Ezan each extend, in their own way, a shared reflection on the ties that unite human beings — visible and invisible, intimate and collective, fragile yet powerful.
In Tchinan’s work, the line becomes language. It connects, revives, reconnects again. Each stroke is a thread stretched between bodies, a shared breath, an energy in motion. His abundant universe evokes communion, joy, and the humanity that recognizes itself in the gaze of another.
In Ezan’s work, it is the imprint that speaks. The uniqueness of each individual is revealed in the very texture of the skin — in that singular pattern which, paradoxically, connects us all through the repetition of the same gesture: to exist, to leave a trace, to seek meaning.
At times, their practices intertwine — literally. Several paintings are created four-handed, the result of a seamless dialogue between their gestures and visions. These works are signed Tchinezan, the fusion of their names, symbolizing both their twinhood and their shared creative spirit.

Together, the two artists explore a fundamental paradox:
how to affirm one’s singularity while belonging to a whole?
The twinhood that binds them becomes a universal metaphor — that of a humanity both multiple and interdependent.
One extends the line, the other inscribes it in matter; one celebrates the collective, the other explores the individual; both testify to the same movement — the search for balance between personal identity and common connection.

The Strength in Numbers celebrates encounter rather than crowd.
It speaks of the power of union — the resonance that arises between beings, from the connections that move through and beyond us. It recognizes that our humanity only finds meaning through others — in relationship, in exchange, in coexistence.

Through their works, Tchinan and Ezan invite us to feel this invisible force — the one that unfolds when differences harmonize, when identities converse, when voices multiply without losing their essence.
For it is in plurality that true strength lies: the strength of connection, the strength of belonging, the strength of life itself.
CÉDRIC TCHINAN
The artist Cédric Tchinan, a keen observer of a world in constant motion, dedicates his art to exploring human interactions and the invisible connections that unite individuals. His fascination with human relationships and their complexity shines through in each of his creations, reflecting his intimate and universal vision of these bonds.

For Tchinan, the line is not merely a mark on the canvas, but a powerful symbol: it represents the fragile, yet essential thread that links people to one another. His graphic lines, often saturated or in motion, breathe life and volume into characters that bear witness to the invisible ties that bind us beyond appearances. This unique, almost instinctive style, which at times evokes doodling, conceals an impressive technical mastery that imbues his works with depth and dynamism.

At the heart of his work, Tchinan celebrates the "WE": this universal collective that encompasses family, friends, neighbors, and, by extension, all of humanity. He questions how each individual contributes to this human tapestry while simultaneously being shaped by it. Through vibrant scenes of everyday life, populated by expressive silhouettes and delicately worked details, the artist captures moments filled with truth, emotion, and poetry.

Tchinan's works evoke shared memories: a group of playful children playing in the street, the joyful clamor of a family meal under a tree, or the intimacy of a stolen moment among friends. These familiar and universal scenes offer the viewer a space to reflect on their own relationships and experiences.

Innocence, tenderness, and a profound sense of humanity permeate each of his creations. His lines, both simple and complex, literally translate the connections that unite us, reminding us of the richness of our differences and the harmony possible in a larger whole.

Tchinan moves forward in his artistic journey with contagious optimism and a sincere joy for life, which is reflected in every detail of his work. His art is a celebration of human bonds and the beauty of simple moments, which often define happiness. Through his works, he invites us to reconsider the value of human connections, while reminding us that it is these fragile yet essential ties that shape the very essence of our lives.

FRANCK EZAN
Franck Ezan, visual artist and identical twin brother of Tchinan, stands out as an tireless explorer of the complexity of human identity. His artistic work begins with a detail that is both intimate and universal: the fingerprint. The ultimate symbol of each individual's uniqueness, it becomes for Ezan the lens through which he questions singularity, otherness, and the bonds that unite us.

Having grown up in the fascinating experience of twinhood with his identical brother, Ezan was confronted early on with the tension between similarity and difference. This duality, lived out daily, nurtured his reflection on the quest for his own individuality. His works express this personal and universal search: finding what makes each person uniquely themselves while remaining connected to the other.

For Ezan, identity is not fixed; it evolves, influenced by factors such as culture, citizenship, beliefs, gender, social class, and human relationships. In this context, he positions himself as a sensitive witness to the universal quest for identity markers, a topic at the heart of contemporary concerns.

His creative process is distinguished by a hybrid approach, blending scientific rigor with graphic aesthetics. In his works, fingerprints become recurring motifs, not only as visual symbols but also as metaphors for personal stories and collective narratives. These prints are not limited to graphic abstractions; they give birth to characters—human figures that emerge from these unique traces, embodying the richness of human experience. These figures represent the idea of an intimate and universal bond, where each person contributes to the collective mosaic while asserting their irreducible uniqueness.

Franck Ezan examines the intersection between similarities and differences, the intimate and the social, continuity and change. Through his works, he invites the viewer to reflect on how we perceive our own identity and how we position ourselves in the gaze of the other. His entire body of work underscores that identity is a constantly evolving process, shaped by our encounters, experiences, and environment.
